In line with the commitment made by the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa on the 12th July , 2026 in flood response update, emergency intervention has commenced in Bolorunpelu Community.

The Council has mobilized a Swamp Bogey to restore the primary drainage channel responsible for conveying stormwater from Beachwood Estate, Rose Garden Estate, and Adiva Estate into the adjoining swamp. The ongoing desilting and channel restoration will improve the free flow of stormwater, enhance drainage efficiency, and reduce the risk of flooding within Bolorunpelu and surrounding areas during periods of intense rainfall.

This intervention marks another milestone in the Local Government's coordinated flood response, which prioritizes immediate relief for affected communities while advancing longer-term drainage solutions across Ibeju-Lekki. Similar operations are already underway and will be extended to other identified flood-prone locations as scheduled.

The administration remains fully committed to delivering the flood mitigation measures outlined in its response plan and will continue to keep residents informed as work progresses. The Council appreciates the patience, understanding, and cooperation of residents as these critical interventions are carried out in the interest of public safety and community resilience.
