The executive members of the Association of Local Government Internal Auditors, Lagos State, led by the Vice Chairman of the Association and Internal Auditor of Eti-Osa East LCDA, Mrs. Olaitan Fabunmi, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa on the 19th June, 2026.
The delegation expressed appreciation to the Chairman for accepting to serve as the Grand Patron of the Association, noting that he was chosen because of his commitment to integrity, accountability, and good governance. They added that his wealth of experience in local government administration would be invaluable to the growth of the Association. The delegation also sought his support for seminars, training programmes, and other capacity-building initiatives for members.
In his response, Hon. Olowa thanked the Association for finding him worthy of the honour and assured them that he would not take the responsibility for granted.
The Chairman emphasized the important role auditors play in strengthening governance and promoting accountability in local government administration. He stressed the need for continuous capacity building, noting that auditors remain key stakeholders in improving revenue management, enhancing transparency, and supporting the overall development objectives of local governments.
Hon. Olowa further encouraged greater collaboration between the Association and local governments, stating that such partnerships are essential for improving institutional effectiveness and delivering better outcomes for residents.
He concluded by assuring the Association of his commitment to supporting initiatives that will enhance the capacity, professionalism, and effectiveness of local government auditors across Lagos State.
