The constant outpour of rain during this rainy Season has left most communities within the Ibeju-Lekki local government and its environment flooded and it has been a thing of great concern to the ibeju-lekki local government under the leadership of the Executive Chairman Hon. (Engr) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa and its executive members. In a bit to ascertain the state of challenges experience at these flood prone communities the helmsman decided to visit the flood prone communities in the company of the flood mitigation committee led by former Lagos Assembly Member, Hon. Raheem and its members. In his efforts to have an eye witness account of the flood situation within the affected communities, the Mayor accompany by the Flood Mitigation Comnittee visited Abulepanu, Aiyeteju, Sapati, Babaadisa, NNPC to Abule Owoniobirinmo. The Team further proceeded to Onidogbo, Alaku, Ofiran, Ebute Owerekori, Desa, Ona-Osa, and Onishon respectively. The assessment of the state of Challenges currently being experienced by the flooded communities commence since a week ago and the efforts are aimed at mitigating flood and decongestion of blocked canals and water channels, posing has constraints to the free flow of water to the appropriate drainage constructed within the affected communities. Lastly the Mayor noted that swamp excavators might be needed to evacuate and decongest deep refuse and dirt from these canals and water ways to make way for free flow of water pending the arrival of the deployment of the permanent solutions as required within each respective communities affected by the flood. default default default
