ANNOUNCEMENT:- FIRST ROUND OF POLIO OUTBREAK RESPONSE IN IBEJU-LEKKI

The Office of the Executive Chairman, Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, wishes to inform all residents that the *First Round of the Polio Outbreak Response (OBR)* will take place from *Saturday, 8th November to Tuesday, 11th November, 2025.* This exercise is part of the ongoing *Statewide Polio Campaign* coordinated by the *Lagos State Primary Health Care Board* in collaboration with the *National Primary Health Care Development Agency* and international partners, aimed at stopping the spread of the circulating variant poliovirus type 2 (cVPV2). During this period, vaccination teams will be moving house to house, and will also visit schools, churches, mosques, and markets across all communities in Ibeju-Lekki to give *free Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV)* to all children aged *0 to 59 months* (children below 5 years old). Parents and guardians are kindly encouraged to allow their children to receive the vaccine. The vaccine is *safe, free, and protects* children from paralysis caused by poliovirus. Let us all cooperate with the health teams to ensure that *no eligible child is left out.* Together, we can keep Ibeju-Lekki and Lagos State polio-free.
