The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. (Engr.)Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has officially sworn-in the new Supervising Councilors reaffirming his Administration’s commitment to effective leadership and sustainable progress. These appointees have taken their oaths of office and solemnly pledged to serve our people with unwavering integrity, transparency, and commitment. The new Supervising Councilors will assume their duties immediately, joining hands with the rest of the administration to advance our shared vision of a more prosperous, inclusive, and progressive Ibeju-Lekki. Describing the Local Government as a frontline Council whose strides set the pace for others to follow, Hon. Olowa noted that the swearing-in ceremony was not merely the filling of political offices, but a deliberate effort to reinforce the institutional structure through which leadership is translated into action and policy for the advancement of Ibeju-Lekki. Prior to the inauguration, the 10th Legislative Council led by Hon. Olayinka Mojeed Oluwafemi who is the Leader, conducted a thorough screening of all nominees. The Council commended the leadership of the Local Government for presenting competent and capable individuals to assist in steering the affairs of the Council. All nominees were unanimously approved to serve as Supervisors and Special Advisers. The Chairman in his keynote address, emphasized that Governance is judged by the vision of its leaders and sustained by the strength of its institutions and the dedication of those entrusted with responsibility. He reiterated that within the framework of Local Government Administration in Lagos State, Supervisors and Special Advisers play a crucial role in policy coordination, departmental oversight, and ensuring that Government programmes and priorities are effectively implemented for the benefit of the people. With this milestone, our full Executive team is now in place, better equipped than ever to drive impactful, people-centered governance at the grassroots level. The Chairman extend his sincere appreciation to the Legislative Council for their diligence, collaboration, and steadfast support throughout this process. He further highlighted that Ibeju-Lekki stands at a strategic point in the development of Lagos State, particularly with expanding economic activities along the Lekki corridor, growing infrastructure, and rapidly developing communities. As expectations continue to rise, he urged the newly inaugurated officials to discharge their duties with integrity, diligence and a strong sense of responsibility. Portfolios Assigned: The following appointments and portfolios were announced: * Hon. Isiaka Yusuf Olatunji – Vice Chairman & Supervisor for Works and Infrastructure. * Hon. Balogun Hakeem Oluwole – Supervisor for Youth and Sports. * Hon. Aje Saheed – Supervisor for Health. * Hon. Edalere Olusola – Supervisor for Agriculture, Rural and Community Development. * Hon. Balogun Abdulwaliu Oluwagbemi – Supervisor for Budget, Planning and Statistics. * Hon. Wakilat Odupe – Special Adviser on Wealth Creation * Hon. Saheed Yusuf – Special Adviser on Agriculture, Rural and Community Development. * Hon. Lasiru Sule – Supervisor for Information, Communication and Technology. * Hon. Sodiq Agbaje – Supervisor for Education and Library Services. * Hon. Ogungbo Temitope Sofwan – Supervisor for Environmental Services and Waste Management. * Hon. Elemoro Ajibola – Supervisor for Market and Revenue. * Hon. Alonge Fatai – Supervisor for Works, Infrastructure, Housing and Tourism. * Hon. Bisola Raolat Azeez – Supervisor for Women Affairs. * Hon. Nurudeen Adeboyejo – Special Adviser on Political Affairs. * Hon. Yusuf Mujaidu – Special Adviser on Chieftaincy and Cultural Affairs. * Hon. Shakirat Bisola Musari – Special Adviser on Business and Economic Development. Also, appointed today are Special Adviser non- Cabinet position. They are: 1. Rafiu Sanmi Eletu. 2. Jimoh Azeez 3. Kazeem Ridwan Abolaji. The Chairman congratulated the appointees and reminded them that their positions represent both an honour and a responsibility. He urged them not to disappoint the people of Ibeju-Lekki, who have entrusted them with the mandate to serve and to work collectively towards achieving greater development for the Local Government. Dignitaries present at the event included: Hon. Engr. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, Executive Chairman, Hon. Isiaka Yusuf Olatunji, Vice Chairman, Mojeed Fatai Adebola, Chief-whip , Lagos State House of Assembly (Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I), Hon. Olowu Abiola Okanlawon, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Revenue and Energy, Hon.Raheem Kazeem, Former Member, Lagos State House of Assembly (Ibeju-Lekki Constituency II), Mr Adekoya Adesanya, Council Manager and other distinguished guests and Stakeholders. The ceremony marks another milestone in the administration’s commitment to inclusive Governance, institutional strengthening and accelerated development across Ibeju-Lekki.
