IBEJU-LEKKI LG EMBARKS ON ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION, ABIJO MARKET AND WARIKE BUS STOP

Te combined team of the Environmental Health Services Department led by the Chief Technical Adviser on environment, Mr. Ajumobi Lateef, alongside the Technical Assistant on Cleaner Ibeju-Lekki Initiative, Ogbeni Jamiu Olawale, the Special Adviser on Security matters, Alhaji Adebanjo and Mr. Abass Lateef an officer of the Environmental Services Department, on Tuesday 18th February, 2025 led a successful sanitation exercise and general cleanup operation at Abijo Market and Warike Bus Stop. It was observed that at Abijo Market, a significant amount of waste was dumped along the median of the highway directly opposite the market which prompted the officials to temporarily seal off the market. The officials however addressed the marketers in a constructive manner while also using the moment to introduce the Garbage Collection Tricycle (Keke Jaja) to them as well as advising them to employ the services of security guards to deter indiscriminate dumping of waste within their domain. The clean-up exercise was successful and will continue in other parts of the Council Area as the Hon. Olowa led administration is leaving no stone unturned to ensure a clean and healthy environment.
