HON. OLOWA FLAGS OFF 2.1KM GBETU-IWEREKUN ROAD STABILIZATION

Residents of Gbetu will heave a sigh of relief soonest as the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa today Monday 10th February, 2025 flagged off the road stabilization for the Gbetu-Iwerekun road which is of 2.1km in length. Speaking during the flag off, Hon. Olowa recalled that his administration in time past, have committed resources to ensure better conditions for the people of Gbetu which includes, clearing of the canal waterways from the Olowopopo bridge and other temporary measures of stabilization during the rainy season. Expressing appreciation, Hon. Olowa thanked the current Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Mojeed Adebola Fatai, for ensuring that the Gbetu road construction was included in the current year's budget as the Lagos State Government will be working on the road in no distant time. The Council boss affirmed that in the interim, the Local Government will be stabilizing the entire 2.1km stretch of the road which will be done with standard best practices of cutting and levelling with boulders to strengthen it for the people to enjoy as the rains are fast approaching. Mr. Olalekan Hamzat, a resident of the community, appreciated Hon. Olowa and his entire team as he affirmed that, the road stabilization was timely. The Baale of Gbetu, Chief Omotayo Rasaki also lent his voice as he prayed for the Executive Chairman in all his dealings. Present at the flag off were the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon.
