OLOWA COMMENCE INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT

Just a few days after being sworn in, the relentless, hardworking and purpose driven Executive Chairman of ibeju-lekki Local Government has commenced massive infrastructural development aimed at constructing 450m Lakowe-Losoro Link Road with standard drainages, interlocking paving stones, solar streetlights, and secondary drainage collector, that will serve as an outflow into the lagasa primary water canal. The Road Project was targeted and designed to prevent flooding, improve mobility and boost economic activities of three communities namely, Oribanwa, Losoro and Lakowe respectively. ENDING PLASTIC POLLUTION CAMPAIGN: IBEJU-LEKKI TAKES THE LEAD

Ibeju-Lekki Local Government hosted Local Governments in Epe Division on the World Environmental Day marking the event with the theme “End Plastic Pollution”. It will also be recalled that the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa charged the participants to ensure that a massive campaign is launched against the use of synthetic polymer. On Wednesday 18th of June, 2025, the environmental department of the Local Government, took the bulls by the horns as they went all out for the campaign against the use of plastics at the Coastal areas.

IBEJU-LEKKI LOCAL GOVERNMENT HOSTS WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY AS HON.OLOWA CALLS FOR INTENSIVE CAMPAIGN AGAINST PLASTIC POLLUTION

A healthy environment is crucial for human well-being, encompassing physical, mental, and social health, as well as economic prosperity. This saying is apt as Ibeju-Lekki Local Government hosted the Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas in Epe Division for this year’s World Environment Day celebrations with the theme: *Ending Plastic Pollutions.* The host Local Government Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa agreed that plastic pollution is indeed a major problem as he emphasized that if the source of a problem is known, then the solution is near while pleading with the audience to go back to their respective LGAs and LCDAs to campaign massively against the use of synthetic polymer which is a major cause. Speaking further, Hon. Olowa talked about the attitude of the people towards waste disposal which seems like an ingrained culture because as a people, we generate excess everyday. He called on the people to take environmental sanitation with all seriousness while also calling for continuous support for the government at all levels. In his welcome address, the representative of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Mr. Bolaji Fasasi, admitted that Plastic waste is one of the greatest pollutants of our environment which causes damage to public health and marine life. These factors, he said, pose great health risks and compromises the ecosystem which has great impact on the young and elderly. The Managing Director of Lagos State Waste Management Agency (LAWMA) Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, who represented the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Hon. Wahab Tokunbo, posited that the surge in population has led to commercial rise as Lagos State being the financial hub of the country sits on a small portion of land, accomodating a large number of people, leading to challenges of environmental sustainability. Speaking further, he also enlightened the audience that plastics take 500 years to decompose which contributes to environmental degradation, but the Lagos State Government is leading the campaign to champion zero waste in its ecosystem. The highlight of the event was presentation of awards for cleanliness to various CDAs as Adekunle Raheem Street, Epe came 3rd with the award presented by the Secretary to the Local Government of Lekki LCDA, Hon. Tosin Osinnuga, Divine Estate, Bogije came second as the award was presented by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Bolaji Fasasi and Michael Otedola Housing Estate, Odo-Iragushi, Eredo came first with the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa presenting the award. However, the Environmental Champions Award for the year went to the host Local Government, Ibeju-Lekki Local Government which was received by Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa. Students of Ibeju High School also put up brilliant performance, highlighting the need for a plastic pollution free environment. Other dignitaries in attendance includes, the Supervisor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Mrs. Abisola Azeez, the Council Manager, Mr. Abiodun Oladipupo Otinwa, the Head of Department of Environmental Services, Mrs. Mary Akinola, Director, Admin and Human Resources, Mr. Sotubo Adeyemi Oladipupo, representatives of CDC, the National Youth Council (NYCN) amongst other dignitaries.

GOVERNOR BABAJIDE SANWO-OLU COMMISSIONS DEVELOPMENTAL PROJECTS IN IBEJU-LEKKI LOCAL GOVERNMENT

It was the gathering of eminent personalities, prominent dignitaries, communities leaders, Apex leaders, Royal fathers, Members of Lagos State Executive Council, students and youth groups, Security agencies, amongst several others, as they gathered at the ibeju-Lekki Local Government Secretariat to make history and to witness the official Commissioning of the Administrative Building, Legislative Building, 400M Standard Paved Road, and the ground breaking of the on-going Citrus garden Ibeju-Lekki Housing Scheme, amongst other laudable initiatives executed by the Executive Chairman, Hon.(Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa. Presenting his welcome Remark, the Mayor acknowledged the presence of everyone at the event, he noted that the aftermath of the “End Sars” civil disturbance by faceless arsonist led to the destruction of the former secretariat building which led to the construction of this newly built, world class edifice. Speaking further, the helmsman highlighted the features contained in the newly built secretariat building, which range from high speed internet, 24 hour solar lighting, CCTV Surveillance and a dedicated ICT center. He noted that all the installed technological facilities is aimed at fostering efficiency and enhancing effective service delivery to all and sundry. He further intimate participants at the event that in line with Governor Babajide Olusola’s THEME PLUS agenda the administration has elevated service delivery across Four Key Major Sectors namely, Healthcare, Education, Economy Empowerment, Security and Environmental Sustainability, which has impacted greatly on the lives of residents and communities at large. The Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr.Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, while giving his keynote Address, acknowledged and commended the laudable initiatives and developmental projects carried out within four years of Olowa’s led administration. He expressed profound appreciation to Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, for the people centred style and approach to governance at the grassroot. He stated the several developmental projects, worthy of commendation which the Federal government has brought to the corridor of ibeju-Lekki and its environ, under the administration of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu. He noted that the helmsman is worthy of a second term ticket based on his performance report and score card within the inception of his administration. He implored all to continue to support the Olowa led administration to further the continuity of the good works and more developmental projects and initiatives to reaffirm the commitments of government to the residents and communitues within ibeju Lekki. PRESIDENCY IN COLLABORATION WITH IBEJU-LEKKI LOCAL GOVERNMENT EMPOWERED RESIDENTS

As part of measures embarked on to fulfil the “Renewed Hope” campaign to the Nation and residents of ibeju-Lekki Local Government, President Ahmed Bola Tinubu through the office of Senior Special Adviser on Community Engagement, Mrs Moremi Ojudu, and support by National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, (NASEMI), via the “Light Up Ibeju-Lekki” initiative project, empowered residents with Solar Powered devices, which comprises of rechargeable solar powered freeze Fans, Lamps and Cooking stoves. The initiative which was aimed at promoting the use of renewable energy as alternative to the epileptic power supply and to empower communities via sustainable technology. On arrival at the Council Secretariat, located at igando oloja, Lekki Epe Expressway, Lagos, the delegation team, from the presidency were welcome with a warm ambiance by the Executive Chairman, Hon.(Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa and executive members. Speaking at the event, the Mayor acknowledged and appreciates the bold and laudable initiatives of the President, which has enhance governance at the grassroot and further empowers the third tier government to be able to carry out capital projects that has impacted positively the lives of people at the grassroot and enhance the workforce. He noted that the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and increased Federal allocations were examples of how good national policies can advance and promote development at the grassroots across the Nation. Lastly, he once again, expressed his appreciation to the Senior Special Adviser to the president on Community Engagement, Mrs Moremi Ojudu for her positive interest and support towards the growth and development of ibeju-Lekki Local Government. In closing, he affirmed that more initiatives like the ‘Light up ibeju-Lekki’, amongst several others will still be unveil as time goes on by the administration and implored all to continue to pray for the success of President Tinubu’s administration. In a related development, the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Community Engagement, Mrs Moremi Ojudu, showered Praises and accolade on the Mayor for showcasing and demonstrating his skills and experience as an engineer, which she emphasized reflected greatly in the building and construction of the council newly built secretariat. She reassured participants at the event, of the president’s commitment as a government in line with the “Renewed Hope” Mandate, to deliver more development and impactful initiatives to communities within ibeju-Lekki. Trainers at the event took time to demonstrate to the audience and beneficiaries at the event how to put together, the solar devices to ensure it function accordingly so as to maximize its use to their benefit. Beneficiaries at the event expressed individual appreciation to the Executive Chairman and the Presidency for the initiative and promised to make good use of solar devices and other items given to them. LAGOS STATE LOCAL GOVERNMENT SERVICE COMMISSION COMMEND OLOWA’S STEWARDSHIP

The Lagos State Local Government Service Commission Paid an official Working Visit to ibeju Lekki Local Government, at its Secretariat in igando Oloja, Lekki Epe Expressway on Friday, 29th May, 2025. The Bi- Annual Visitation which was aimed at Monitoring the progress and development of the workforce at the third tier of government to ensure efficiency and competence to maximise productivity and quality service delivery within the workforce to the people. The Commission Team which was ably led by the Commission’s Chairman, Hon. Kamaldeen Abiodun Bayewu, with other commissioners, Hon. Hakeem Adisa Bamgbala, commissioner 1, Lagos island Division, Hon. Ahmed Ayinde Seriki, commission 2, Epe Division, Hon. Adaranijo Taofeek, Commissioner 3, Ikeja Division and Hon. Adebowale Sosimi, Ikorodu Division, Representative of Permanent Secretary, Directors and other team members were all present to at the scheduled working visit to ibeju Lekki Local Government. In his welcome remarks, the Executive Chairman, Hon.(Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, expressed profound appreciation and commendation to commission’s the Chairman for the transformative initiatives injected into the workforce which has enhance professionalism, experience and promotion within the workforce. The Mayor further intimate the Commission’s chairman about the provision of technology and internet facilities at the newly built secretariat of the council to allow the workforce have free access to internet connections, maximise productivity and qualitative service delivery to all. In conclusion, the helmsman out of his kind gesture announce a sum of Fifty Thousand Naira, (#50,000) each, to all members of staff, as reward and appreciation for their unwavering supports so far. Addressing the gathering at the event, the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission’s Chairman, Hon. IBEJU LEKKI LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND LAGOS STATE HEALTH DISTRICT 3, COMMEMORATES WORLD MALARIA DAY

As part of measures embarked on to ensure a malaria free society amongst residents within ibeju community and its environ. Ibeju Lekki Local Government, under the Leadership of the Executive Chairman, Hon.(Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, in partnership with the Lagos State Health District 3, commemorate , year 2025, World Malaria Day at the ibeju Primary Health Care Centre, located within ibeju town. Speaking at the event, the representative of the Mayor and Supervisor For Health, Hon. Sindiku Tajudeen Oniwonlu while delivering the Keynote address of the Executive Chairman, noted that, good health and well-being of residents and the communities at large has been prioritized by the Olowa led administration since its inception. This, he stated, prompt the administration to embarked on numerous health projects and health improvement programmes at all the Primary Health Care Centres within ibeju Lekki Local Government. Speaking further, he noted that Renovation, Equipping and furnishing of ibeju primary Health Care Centre and renovation of the staff quarters for the health workers was not left out. He again, noted that renovation, equipping and furnishing of Aiyeteju primary Health Care Centre, Orimedu PHC, Solu Alade PHC, Awoyaya PHC and other Primary Health Care Centres were carried out respectively and numerous public health programmes were likewise supported by the administration accordingly. He noted that the administration will provide Free Malaria Test and treatment to all residents and communities and will intensify efforts to sensitize residents and communities to take preventive measures through the use of Insecticide Mosquito Nets and ensuring proper environmental Sanitation. Lastly he appreciate the Lagos State Health District 3 and the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for his commitment and dedication towards improving health care service delivery within the health district and especially ibeju lekki communities at large. The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health District 3, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke, ably represented by Director of Medical Services, Dr. Adenike Oguntuase, while addressing participants present at the event acknowledged and commend the efforts of the Executive Chairman by ensuring adequate Renovation, equipping and furnishing all the primary health centres across ibeju lekki communities and further employing additional health workers to enhance better health service delivery to residents, communities and the public at large. She implored participants to take preventive measures through the use of insecticide Mosquito Nets and maintaining a cleaner, conducive and habitable environment free from stagnant water and grasses where mosquitos can easily occupy. Sanitarian Abass, also held a health session with the participants, where he sensitized all at the gathering on the need to take adequate preventive steps to guard against mosquitos bite and malaria disease. He demonstrated at the event, the proper way to make use of the mosquito insecticide net to avoid being biten by the insect, which eventually leads to malaria disease The Laboratory Team lead and it health workers also enlighten participants at the event on the need to cooperate with health workers to achieve a better health service delivery whenever they visit the primary health centers to access health services by providing accurate, detail and correct information about their personal details. He noted that mutual understanding and cooperation by the patient will help the Laboratory attendant in proper health diagnosis. Free Insecticide treated Mosquito Nets were given to all participants and Free Malaria drugs at the event. The Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Ososanya Kehinde Olufemi, gave the vote of thanks and expressed his profound appreciation to all for taking time out to be the event. Awoyaya Primary Health Centre

At the onset of Hon. Abdullah Olowa’s administration, the Awoyaya Primary Health Centre was one of the few functioning healthcare facilities in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, providing 24-hour medical services to the residents. Recognizing the need to expand and sustain this impact, the administration took strategic steps to improve its infrastructure and service delivery. Under this administration, an additional facility was constructed within the Awoyaya PHC premises. This new building is fully equipped with modern medical tools and dedicated spaces for record-keeping and family planning consultations, significantly improving the efficiency and scope of healthcare services provided. In addition to these, the administration renovated the existing wards and procured additional beds and furniture to improve the hospital’s capacity to deliver basic healthcare services. This bold intervention aligns with the developmental goals of the administration and contributes to the attainment of global objectives aimed at improving grassroots and community-based healthcare delivery.

IBEJU-LEKKI LOCAL GOVERNMENT EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN FULFILS PROMISE, PRESENTS PRIZES TO WINNERS OF CHAIRMAN’S FOOTBALL MATCH

The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Engr. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has fulfilled his promise by presenting prizes to the winners of the recently concluded Chairman’s Football Match. The event was a testament to the Chairman’s commitment to Community Social responsibilities and nurturing young talents. The prize winners are, Iba-Oloja FC 1st position ₦2,000,000, Onidogbo FC 2nd position ₦1,500,000, Igbo-Ikate FC 3rd position ₦1,000,000. The Chairman’s gesture was well-received by the winning teams, who expressed gratitude for his kindness and commitment to keeping his promises. They pledged to remain focused on their aspirations as they look to the future. This initiative demonstrates the Executive Chairman’s dedication to promoting sports development and empowering young people in the Community. The Dignitaries present at the presentation are: Hon. HON. OLOWA MEETS WITH CDC MEMBERS, ASSURES THE 4TH TIER OF CONTINUED GOVERNMENT’S SUPPORT

The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa today Friday 28th March, 2025 met with the leadership of the various Community Development Associations (CDAs) in line with the developmental plans of the Local Government as he also used the moment to brief them on current realities. During the interactive session, Hon. Olowa intimated the CDC members of the Ibeju-Lekki Model City Plan a 20 year plan which will consist of designated areas mapped out for residential, commercial, recreation and even farming. Speaking further, the Council boss charged the CDC union that in order to be part of the process, they should study the master plan and make their own inputs towards the development of the Council Area. While breaking the good news of building permit for existing buildings which will not be tampered with, Hon. Olowa hinted on a possible stakeholders meeting which will be around the corner soon. He reminded the people of the past stakeholders meeting where the Local Government Council made cases on behalf of those affected by the Coastal road construction, as they have been adequately compensated. The Comrade Adeboye Jabita led CDC, while presenting their report, appreciated the Council Chairman for recognizing them as the 4th tier of Government and gave him the full assurance of total support for his administration.

Ibeju-Lekki Local Government under the Leadership of Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, host the year 2025, Annual Ramadan Lecture, tagged ” Love in Islam” at the Council Secretariat, Igando, Oloja on Thursday 27th March, 2025 Addressing the gathering, the Mayor expressed profound appreciation to all present at the event despite their busy schedule. He emphasized the need to pray for those in Authority, starting from, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the entire Leadership of ibeju-Lekki Local Government, from the Executive, Legislative, and other political appointees, Apex Leaders, Obas and Baales, residents, and communities dwellers respectively. Speaking further, the helmsman acknowledged the support of Mr. Seyi Tinubu towards the programme with the donation of two hundred (200) pieces of 10kg bags of Rice, Vegetable Oil, Sugar, and Spagheti. Special prayers and Quranic recitations were offered at the programme, while participants took home free food packs. The Guest Lecturer at the event, (Sheikh.) Abdul-Semiu Opeloyeru Ajayi, the President, Grand Chief Imams and Sheikh Abdul-Fatai Idunnu Solihu, Chief Missioner, Ibeju-Lekki Chapter, while delivering the lecture, implored all to extend love and unity to one another, especially at this sacred Month of Ramadan. UNIFIED LOCAL GOVERNMENT MUSLIM STAFF ASSOCIATION, IBEJU-LEKKI LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAPTER, HOLDS ITS ANNUAL RAMADAN LECTURE

The Unified Local Government Muslim Members of Staff Association of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government held its Annual Ramadan Lecture on Thursday 20th March, 2025 with the theme tagged “Islam and Humanity, A Panacea For Harmonious Living”, at the Open Space of the newly built Legislative Chamber, at the Secretariat, Igando, Oloja. The occasion, commenced with the welcome address by the Amir of the Unified Muslim Association, Alfa Balogun Ismail. The Executive Chairman, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, while addressing the gathering promised to look into the basic needs of the Association amongst several other things. He further emphasized, the need to make the event a quarterly programme in the year. The Guest Lecturer at the event, Fadilat Sheik Nurudeen Mutiulahi, while speaking at the occasion, implored the people to promotes peaceful coexistence and unity with others in line with islamic doctrines and avoids all forms of immoralities during and after the holy month of ramadan fasting.
