As part of measures embarked on to ensure a malaria free society amongst residents within ibeju community and its environ. Ibeju Lekki Local Government, under the Leadership of the Executive Chairman, Hon.(Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, in partnership with the Lagos State Health District 3, commemorate , year 2025, World Malaria Day at the ibeju Primary Health Care Centre, located within ibeju town. Speaking at the event, the representative of the Mayor and Supervisor For Health, Hon. Sindiku Tajudeen Oniwonlu while delivering the Keynote address of the Executive Chairman, noted that, good health and well-being of residents and the communities at large has been prioritized by the Olowa led administration since its inception. This, he stated, prompt the administration to embarked on numerous health projects and health improvement programmes at all the Primary Health Care Centres within ibeju Lekki Local Government. Speaking further, he noted that Renovation, Equipping and furnishing of ibeju primary Health Care Centre and renovation of the staff quarters for the health workers was not left out. He again, noted that renovation, equipping and furnishing of Aiyeteju primary Health Care Centre, Orimedu PHC, Solu Alade PHC, Awoyaya PHC and other Primary Health Care Centres were carried out respectively and numerous public health programmes were likewise supported by the administration accordingly. He noted that the administration will provide Free Malaria Test and treatment to all residents and communities and will intensify efforts to sensitize residents and communities to take preventive measures through the use of Insecticide Mosquito Nets and ensuring proper environmental Sanitation. Lastly he appreciate the Lagos State Health District 3 and the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for his commitment and dedication towards improving health care service delivery within the health district and especially ibeju lekki communities at large. The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health District 3, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke, ably represented by Director of Medical Services, Dr. Adenike Oguntuase, while addressing participants present at the event acknowledged and commend the efforts of the Executive Chairman by ensuring adequate Renovation, equipping and furnishing all the primary health centres across ibeju lekki communities and further employing additional health workers to enhance better health service delivery to residents, communities and the public at large. She implored participants to take preventive measures through the use of insecticide Mosquito Nets and maintaining a cleaner, conducive and habitable environment free from stagnant water and grasses where mosquitos can easily occupy. Sanitarian Abass, also held a health session with the participants, where he sensitized all at the gathering on the need to take adequate preventive steps to guard against mosquitos bite and malaria disease. He demonstrated at the event, the proper way to make use of the mosquito insecticide net to avoid being biten by the insect, which eventually leads to malaria disease The Laboratory Team lead and it health workers also enlighten participants at the event on the need to cooperate with health workers to achieve a better health service delivery whenever they visit the primary health centers to access health services by providing accurate, detail and correct information about their personal details. He noted that mutual understanding and cooperation by the patient will help the Laboratory attendant in proper health diagnosis. Free Insecticide treated Mosquito Nets were given to all participants and Free Malaria drugs at the event. The Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Ososanya Kehinde Olufemi, gave the vote of thanks and expressed his profound appreciation to all for taking time out to be the event.
