HON. OLOWA SET TO LAUNCH IBEJU-LEKKI RENEWED HOPE CONDITIONAL CASH TRANSFER (CCT) SCHEME

4,000 residents to benefit #100,000 monthly over a period of 20 months In a bold move to empower vulnerable families and stimulate local economic growth, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa is set to unveil the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) Scheme, an initiative that aligns with His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s broader Renewed Hope agenda, This program will provide direct financial support to 4000 vulnerable residents who will be beneficiaries of 100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Naira) monthly. The cash aid is designed to mitigate economic hardships, promote household stability, sustain business operations, and protect against various socio-economic challenges – building on the framework of his His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. To apply, residents are encouraged to visit the the Local Government Secretariat in Igando-Oloja as registration starts on Monday, 29th September, 2025

EPE DIVISION PROFESSIONAL WOMEN ASSOCIATION (EPWA) PAYS COURTESY TO HON. OLOWA

A non-Governmental Organization, Epe Division Professional Women Association (EPWA) a leading grassroots organization dedicated to advancing gender equality and community development, led by its president, Mrs. Folake Oluyemi-Johnson, today Wednesday 24th September, 2025 paid a courtesy to the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa in his office. The delegation, composed of women leaders from various sectors including education, health, and entrepreneurship, engaged in fruitful discussions on key issues as they also used the moment to congratulate Hon. Olowa on his recent emergence as the Chairman of Conference 57 League of Chairmen in Lagos State. In response, Hon. IBEJU-LEKKI LOCAL GOVERNMENT SENSITIZED STAKEHOLDERS ON AUTO STREET NUMBERING AND GEO LOCALIZATION TO ENHANCE COMMUNITY ADVANCEMENT

In a bid to enhance community development via automated street numbering and Geographic Information System (GIS) integration aimed at promoting service delivery and advance strategic planning that would improve infrastructural development by the government. The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. (Engr) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa has embarked on sensitization of residents and stakeholders within ibeju-lekki communities and its environs of the systemic house numbering and GIS mapping to tackle deficient service delivery and strengthen effective governance at the grassroot. The proposed initiative and project, he emphasized is aimed at generating a comprehensive digital database of land, house numbers and detailed street names, township map for better planning and good governance to be used as a foundation to progress in actualizing the Lagos State Government’s 20 year development plan (2024-2044), aimed at transforming the rural environment into a sustainable urban and economic hub. Dr. Yemi Odumosu, a technical expert highlighted the scope of the project via modern technologies such as Drone Mapping, Imagery Merging and Field Enumeration and how GIS supports digital mapping, real time data analysis and integration with smart city systems. Interactive sessions were featured to engage residents and stakeholders contributions and inputs at the Question and Answer session. Speaking further at the event, the Mayor charged stakeholders to ensure that Royal fathers and Baales in their respective communities signed the Street naming form before coming to the local government for approval accordingly. Key highlights and benefits that the initiative will promote are: Effective Service delivery, Rapid and functional Emergency Services, Advanced Economic growth, transformation of the rural area to sustainable urban area, infrastructural development via strategic planning by government to benefit residents and stakeholders. NDIC–LASG PARTNERSHIP UNVEILS 1KM VIO-SECRETARIAT ROAD PROJECT IN IGANDO-OLOJA

The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), in partnership with the Lagos State Government, has announced the construction of a 1-kilometer stretch of the VIO–Secretariat Road, Igando-Oloja. The announcement was made today at a stakeholder meeting attended by key officials and community representatives. The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, was represented at the meeting by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Issa Maruf Olayinka. In his remarks, Hon. Olowa expressed gratitude to the NDIC for extending its corporate social responsibility to Ibeju-Lekki, describing the project as a timely intervention that aligns with the Lagos State Government’s broader agenda of enhancing urban infrastructure and promoting seamless connectivity across the State. Speaking on behalf of the NDIC, Engr. Tayo Adewole reaffirmed the Corporation’s commitment to supporting community development. “This road project reflects our dedication to contributing to the socio-economic growth of Lagos State. By partnering with the State Government, we aim to improve the quality of life for residents and businesses in Ibeju-Lekki,” he said. Also addressing the gathering, Engr. Soyombo, Director of the Lagos State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, commended the NDIC for the initiative, noting that it underscores the importance of public-private partnerships in bridging infrastructural gaps across the State. The 1km road project, to be executed by Batmas Construction Company, will feature modern drainage systems and pedestrian pathways, significantly easing traffic congestion and improving accessibility in the Igando-Oloja axis. Present at the meeting were the Council Manager, Mr. Oladipupo Otinwa, and the Council Engineer, Mr. Tijani Adebayo, alongside other stakeholders.

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT ON SHAPATI CANAL: GOVERNMENT REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO RESTORATION

HON. OLOWA CALLS FOR COMMUNITY COOPERATION The Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, through the Office of Drainage Services (ODS), today held a stakeholder engagement with residents and community leaders to deliberate on the urgent restoration of the Shapati Canal (Channel 132). Speaking at the meeting held at the Ayeteju Community Centre, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, underscored the importance of collective responsibility in ensuring the canal functions effectively. He emphasized that keeping drainage channels clear is not merely a regulatory exercise but a vital safeguard for lives, property, and public health. Hon. Olowa urged residents to give their full cooperation, stressing that removing contraventions such as encroachments, illegal structures, and overgrown vegetation is crucial to preventing flooding and protecting the community from environmental hazards. Presentations were delivered by ODS officials Engr. Adewunmi, Engr. Junaid, and Engr. Zubair who explained the technical and safety reasons behind securing rights-of-way for drainage infrastructure. They noted that unobstructed access is essential for regular maintenance, inspections, and swift response during emergencies. Residents were also briefed on common violations including construction on drainage easements, and were guided on processes for voluntary compliance. Alternatives were discussed to help property owners adjust without undermining drainage infrastructure. The Ministry further announced that follow-up inspections will be carried out within two weeks, after which enforcement will begin if contraventions are not addressed. Officials assured the community that the process will be handled fairly and transparently. The interactive session allowed homeowners, business operators, and environmental advocates to raise concerns and seek clarifications, fostering an atmosphere of collaboration and mutual understanding.

NO ROOM FOR ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION AS IBEJU-LEKKI LG LEADS ENFORCEMENT OPERATIONS

For a clutter-free and sanitary setting, the environmental team of the Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa led administration led by the Chief Technical Adviser on Environment, Mr. Lateef Ajumobi today embarked on enforcement against illegal trading along the walkways, an operation which was carried out in Bogije, Lakowe and Ogunfayo. The operation was initiated in response to the growing level of dis-orderliness and environmental encroachment in these areas. A large number of traders had illegally occupied pedestrian walkways and sections of the road, using these public spaces for commercial activities, thereby obstructing both vehicular and pedestrian movement. The enforcement team worked to restore order by redirecting unauthorized traders and unlicensed vendors, back to their designated shops and approved trading areas. This action helped to significantly reduce the level of congestion and non-compliance observed along the corridor. The operation was successful as it helped in restoring normalcy and ensuring a cleaner, safer environment along the Bogije, Lakowe, and Ogunfayo routes.

LAUNCHING OF 2.4KM ELERANIGBE ROAD HON. OLOWA COMMENDS ZYLUS HOMES

The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa was a special guest at the groundbreaking ceremony of Lekki Avana Phase 2 by Zylus Homes, held at Eleranigbe, Ibeju-Lekki. Delivering his address, the Council Boss commended Zylus Homes for their continuous investment in the housing sector and reaffirmed the local government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for investors and developers to thrive. Speaking further, he emphasized that the presence of reputable real estate firms such as Zylus Homes further validates Ibeju-Lekki’s position as a fast-rising economic hub, noting that such projects not only address housing needs but also contribute significantly to job creation and community development. The chairman expressed his administration’s readiness to partner with credible organizations to ensure sustainable growth and development in the area, while assuring residents of more infrastructural advancements to complement the rapid urbanization taking place in Ibeju-Lekki. Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, inspected the dredging site at Abijo

The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, inspected the dredging site at Abijo and the 1.3 km road from the Lekki – Epe Express Way leading to the site. It was heartwarming as the Mayor received the proposal of the dredging companies to partner with the local government in the construction of this road . This will undoubtedly improve accessibility and the economic condition of the area . During inspection, many hotel buildings, event centers that have been abandoned due to the bad road were sighted. Hon. Olowa is confident that this road when constructed will attract future investments and improve the business climate of not just the dredging sites but every other businesses within the area . This will create jobs and bring additional prosperity to Ibeju-Lekki Local Government.

HON. ABDULLAHI SESAN OLOWA FLAGS OFF CONSTRUCTION OF 400M LAKOWE–LOSORO LINK ROAD

The administration of Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa has taken another bold step in its drive to deliver critical infrastructure, with the official flag-off of the 400-metre Lakowe–Losoro Link Road. The groundbreaking event, held opposite the Lakowe Central Mosque, brought together traditional rulers, legislative leaders, community associations, and enthusiastic residents. Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Isiaka Yusuf Olatunji, who represented the Executive Chairman, described the road as a long-awaited intervention that will finally tackle persistent flooding, improve access to the Lakowe Market Square and the Community Health Centre, and unlock new economic opportunities for local businesses. In a message delivered on behalf of the Chairman, Hon. Olowa noted: “This road has for years been a source of hardship to commuters and residents. Today, we begin to change that story. Beyond concrete and asphalt, this project represents inclusiveness and shared progress. I urge the good people of Lakowe and Losoro to protect this investment—it belongs to us all.” Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Mojeed Olayinka, echoed this sentiment, stressing that Lakowe residents have endured poor access roads for too long, especially during the rainy season. INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT: OLOWA INSPECTS MAJOR ROADS

As part of efforts embarked on to intervene in the infrastructural development of damaged roads within ibeju-Lekki communities. The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon.(Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa has taken proactive measures to inspect Lakowe-Losoro access road ahead of the stakeholders meeting in preparation for the commencement of its flag off. The road is designed to be paved, and features like drainage and solar street lights were included. Likewise the Mayor also inspected the Eleranigbe road, a collaborative project with Zylus Homes, which has enhanced economic activities and growth in the area. No doubt ibeju-Lekki is set to witness more infrastructural development under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Hon. (Engr) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa.

NATIONAL WOMEN’S CONFERENCE @ 25:- COWLSO ORGANIZES FREE MEDICAL OUTREACH IN IBEJU-LEKKI LG

The Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) in conjunction with Ibeju-Lekki Local Government and Lekki LCDA on the 3rd September, 2025 held a free medical outreach with services in Free blood pressure checks, Diabetes Mellitus screening, Tuberculosis Screening, Eye Check, Cervical and Breast Screening, Dental Check up, Health Education amongst many other services rendered. Welcoming Her Excellency, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, was the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa who thanked COWLSO for deeming Ibeju-Lekki worthy of the humanitarian cause as he acknowledged that it is indeed a honour to collaborate with both Council Areas. In his speech, Hon. Olowa posited that the gathering is not just a event of fanfare but for a cause that speaks to humanity as COWLSO has proven to be a beacon of hope, championing programmes which complement Government’s efforts. Speaking further, the Mayor affirmed that the gesture reflects compassion as health is a foundation of every successful community as the outreach is a practical way of bridging the gap. While expressing appreciation to the first lady and COWLSO, the Conference 57 Chairman gave the assurance that the Government will continue to ensure health is always on the front burner while calling on the audience to embrace healthy lifestyles as Health is Wealth. Speaking further, she affirmed that the decision to hold the outreach at Ibeju-Lekki was deliberate as it is a fast developing Local Government as she called on everyone to take advantage of the free services. The Committee Of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) was founded in the year 1969, by Mrs. Obafunmilayo Mobolaji-Johnson and was reinvigorated by Her Excellency, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu (CON) in the year 2000. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the National Women’s Conference, the team was divided into various eras which are Mobolaji Era, Tinubu Era, Fashola Era, Ambode Era and Sanwo-olu Era. Present at the occasion were, the Vice Chairman,i Hon. Isiaka Yusuf Olatunji, the Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Mojeed Olayinka and the entire Councillors, Hon. SAFEGUARDING COMMUNITIES: OLOWA INSPECTS CLEARED PRIMARY CANALS AT ALAKUN, BABA-ADISA AND AIYETEJU COMMUNITIES

The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, on Monday 25th August 2025, embarked on an inspection of ongoing flood mitigation works in Alakun and Aiyeteju communities. The inspection covered drainage clearance projects where swamp excavators have been deployed to decongest blocked water channels and canals. The intervention is designed to ensure the smooth flow of rainwater into the right outlets, thereby reducing the risks of flooding, erosion, and damage to lives and property within the communities. The exercise forms part of the local government’s proactive environmental management strategy to address flooding, which has been a recurring challenge in many parts of Ibeju-Lekki during the rainy season. By keeping critical water channels open and functional, the administration aims to safeguard residential areas, improve sanitation, and enhance the quality of life for residents. Accompanying the Chairman on the inspection were the Chief Technical Adviser on Environment, Mr. Lateef Ajumobi; the CTA on Media and Communication, Mr. Yemi Azeez; Personal Assistant to the Chairman, Mr. Adewale Moore; representative of the Environment Department, Mr. Kolapo Olabode; and the CDA Chairman, Mr. Agbaji Olushola. Their presence highlighted the collaborative nature of the project, which combines technical expertise, administrative oversight, and community partnership.
