Popular Content creator Kehinde Adams popularly known as Lege Miami in Social Media circles with over 2 million Instagram followers and a huge YouTube presence through his film trailers and fan content, was at Ibeju-Lekki Local Government to meet with the Executive Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa. The meeting which is a public outreach is a tour aimed to directly engage with Local Government Chairmen across Lagos State in support of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid come 2027 and to also assess Local Governance. Lege Miami used the moment to express his happiness on the collaboration between the Pan Atlantic University (PAU) and Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, which has yielded positive development to students in the Council Area as he also saluted Hon. Olowa’s efforts in his drive towards Environmental Sustainability with the Garbage Collection Tricycle (Keke Jaja).

GRACE GIVEN WIDOWS CHARITY FOUNDATION COLLABORATES WITH IBEJU-LEKKI LG TO EMPOWER WIDOWS

In a heartwarming display of community solidarity, a Non-Governmental Organization, Grace Given Widows Charity Foundation in collaboration with Ibeju-Lekki Local Government on Friday 19th September, 2025 distributed essential food items and cash assistance to over 200 widows in the Council Area. This initiative, themed “a Father to the Fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling” aims to alleviate the economic hardships faced by widows and promote their financial independence in the face of the current economic realities. Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa while addressing the widows affirmed that, today’s gesture of support, though modest, carries a profound message which implies that they are seen, valued, and are never alone. While expressing his heartfelt gratitude to the Grace Given Widows Charity Foundation and its visionary founder, Mrs. Victoria Adenaike, Hon. Olowa stated that the foundation does more than provide material aid, as it creates a sanctuary where widows can find solace, encouragement, and the tools to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope. Mrs. Victoria Adenaike, Executive Director of Grace Given Widows Charity Foundation NGO, expressed profound gratitude to the Executive Chairman who is an embodiment of humility and service to the people for the collaboration, stating, “Widows are the unsung pillars of our society, often bearing the brunt of loss and economic challenges. This partnership with Ibeju-LekkiLocal Government is a testament to what we can achieve when compassion meets action”. The event, which held at the Secretariat, saw beneficiaries receive food items and cash donated by the Local Government and the NGO a gesture which is meant to support immediate needs such as business startups. Hon. Olowa also used the moment to announce the administration’s intention of the renewed hope conditional cash transfer which is aimed at helping beneficiaries and would run for six months.

GOVERNOR SANWO-OLU DELIVERS INAUGURAL NIIA DISTINGUISHED LECTURE SERIES

The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa joined other dignitaries, diplomats, and policymakers at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), Victoria Island, Lagos, as Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu delivered the maiden edition of the Distinguished Lecture Series 2025. The lecture, themed “Lagos and Nigeria 2030: Projection of a World Power,” showcased Lagos’ bold developmental strides, particularly in agriculture, food security, and industrial growth. Governor Sanwo-Olu, while addressing the distinguished audience, reaffirmed Lagos’ position as a continental leader despite being Nigeria’s smallest State by land mass. He pointed to key projects including the Imota Rice Mill, the Lagos Central Food Security Systems and Logistics Park at Ketu-Ereyun in Epe, and the State’s role as host to Africa’s largest urea fertilizer production plant. The Governor also highlighted the half-a-trillion-naira “Produce for Lagos” programme, aimed at bolstering resilience in the food supply chain and securing Lagos’ future in line with its ambition to drive Nigeria’s global relevance by 2030. The lecture marks the beginning of a new intellectual tradition at the NIIA, bringing together leaders of thought to shape Nigeria’s future within the global arena. Hon. Hon. Olowa Hosts NULGE Executives on Courtesy Visit

The leadership of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), led by its Chairman, Hon. Sewanu Odufowora, paid a courtesy call on the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, to felicitate with him on his emergence as Chairman of Conference 57 in Lagos State. Hon. Olowa warmly received the delegation, expressing gratitude for their solidarity and the role NULGE plays in keeping the machinery of local governance effective. He pledged his continued support for the union and urged members to remain exemplary representatives of the civil workforce. ENGR. OLOWA HAILS NIGERIAN SOCIETY OF ENGINEERS ON THE INAUGURATION CEREMONY OF ITS 91ST BRANCH IN IBEJU-LEKKI

Ibeju-Lekki Local Government today Saturday 6th September, 2025 played host to the Nigerian Society of Engineers on its inauguration ceremony of the 91st Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Branch with the Executive Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa in attendance as the special guest, together with the member, Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Bayo Balogun as the Theme for the programme was tagged, “A sustainable New Lagos, the role of Engineers”. In his welcome address to the body of engineers, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa affirmed that the programme is not just another gathering but a defining milestone in the history of the Engineering Profession in Nigeria and for the NSE as its umbrella professional body. Speaking further, the Council helmsman noted that the Ibeju-Lekki branch of NSE is both timely and significant. In his words, “With the establishment of the Lekki Free Zone and the Lagos Free Zone, the corridor has witnessed a rapid influx of manufacturing, Industrial and Maritime businesses as naturally, these developments have drawn a large pool of engineers and other professionals making the formation of the NSE branch necessary”. The President/Chairman in Council, Nigerian Society of Engineers, Engr. Margaret Aina Oguntala FNSE, appreciated Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa for his magnanimous role in the establishment of the 91st NSE branch in Ibeju-Lekki being a corporate member himself. She noted that the inauguration of the NSE 91st Branch is indeed a significant milestone which marks the expansion of the society particularly the urbanization of Ibeju-Lekki as a Local Government as the establishment is a direct response to the yearning needs of development. Engr. Olufemi Dare FNSE, FNICE an accomplished project management professional with over 25 years of outstanding services in infrastructural development, was inaugurated as the pioneer Chairman of the 91st Nigerian Society of Engineers, Ibeju-Lekki branch as same was done to the Exco members who will be working with him. The Nigerian Society of Engineers is the umbrella organization for the Engineering Profession in Nigeria. The Society enhances high professional standards and ethical practices as it has has distinguished itself through progressive and imaginative programmes to become the avenue for the professional development of its members as well as technological development of the country.

IBEJU-LEKKI COUNCIL CHAIR ATTENDS 10TH CONSTITUENCY STAKEHOLDER’S MEETING

The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa on Thursday 4th September was a special guest at the 10th Constituency Stakeholders Meeting organized by the Lagos State House of Assembly with the theme, “Governance in Action: The Gains of Renewed Hope Agenda”. which took place at Constituency I and II at the Council Secretariat, Igando-Oloja and the Constituency Office at Oshoroko simultaneously. While hailing the initiative of the Lagos State House of Assembly for the noble idea of the stakeholder’s meeting which has created an enduring platform where government actions can be examined and progress can be measured, Hon. Olowa eulogized Hon. Mojeed Fatai Adebola and Hon. Oladele Ajayi who represented Ibeju-Lekki Constituency 1 and 2 respectively, as he described both leaders as noble men who have proven their worth in leadership. Speaking further, in the words of the Mayor, “the gathering is more than just a tradition, it is a demonstration of accountability, transparency, and participatory governance. It is a reminder that true leadership is about service and that leaders must always return to the people to give an account”. YEAR 2025 LAGOS STATE DOMESTIC AND SEXUAL VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH: A CALL FOR PROACTIVENESS

Domestic and sexual violence are pervasive issues that affect millions of individuals worldwide, cutting across all demographics, including age, gender, race, and socioeconomic status. These forms of violence often occur in silence, hidden behind closed doors or societal stigma, making awareness and education critical to prevention, intervention, and support for survivors. The consequences of domestic and sexual violence are profound, affecting survivors, their families, and society at large in terms of physical and mental health, social and economic disruption and intergenerational effects as Children exposed to domestic violence are at higher risk of experiencing or perpetrating abuse later in life, perpetuating a cycle of trauma. As a Government, we will continue to educate the citizenry, support survivors:while we urge victims to speak out. Domestic and sexual violence thrive in silence, but awareness is a powerful tool for change. By educating ourselves, supporting survivors, and advocating for systemic change, we can create a world where safety, respect, and equality prevail. OLOWA PROFFERED LASTING SOLUTIONS TO ENCROACHMENT ON THE EXPRESSWAY BY PLANKS AND BAMBOO ASSOCIATIONS

In a bid to curtail the encroachment into the Lekki-Epe Expressway and walkways by traders and dealers of planks and Bamboo Sellers Association, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon.(Engr) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa took a proactive step on Friday 29th August, 2025 by hosting the concerned stakeholders which comprise of Bamboo Marketer Association, United Timber Merchant Plank Seller and Lagos State Plank and Building Material Association in a meeting at the council”s Secretariat in igando oloja. The scheduled meeting was aimed at proffering positive solutions to relocating dealers of Bamboo, Planks and Timbers away from the expressway and roadsides to a safer and convenient location. Addressing Executive members of the three Associations, the Mayor emphasized the urgent need to relocate them to a designated location, while charging them to instill orderliness and discipline into their members as regards their methods of operation and stop littering the roads, walkways, and expressway with waste generated from their sawmills, noting that ibeju-Lekki Local Government spent substantial amount of money on waste evacuation along the expressway, walkways and roads everyday. He stated that, as a government, constituting environmental nuisance by anyone, body or association will not be condoned by Ibeju-Lekki Local Government. Speaking further, he frowned at how some sellers of planks and timbers littered the roads and expressway with sawdust generated from their sawmill after operation of each day and sometimes empty the sawdust and waste generated into the drainage channels. He Charged the Association to commence the search on relocating to a safer site which could be named after the Associate as ibeju-Lekki Plank Dealers Association and where residents and members of the public can come to patronize them. Responding to the charged by the helmsman to members of the association, Mr Afolabi Muyideen, Zonal Chairman of Plank Association, Ibeju- Lekki, stated that the Association has 10 hectares of land, registered in their name and which its tittled has been secured from the Lagos State Government. However, he noted that the road to the site is swampy and not motorable. He appealed to the Mayor to come to their aid to sand and fill the remaining 300 Meter road remaining in order to make the road accessible to all. Finally, the three Associations pleaded for time to be able to organize themselves and members and to leave the expressway and roads to a safer and permanent site as proposed by the Executive Chairman.

OLOWA PACIFY AGGRIEVED PARTY OVER ONOSA MAYHEM

In a bid to pacify and appeal to the aggrieved party at onosa community over the killings of their kinsmen. The Executive Chairman of the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. (Engr) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has taken a laudable initiative by appealing to the representative of the Arewa people, whose kinsmen were shot dead by a police officer at onosa community, here in ibeju-Lekki, Lekki -Expressway. Addressing members of the Arewa group led by their leader, Aseriki Musa Abubakar, Arewa leader in Ibeju-Lekki general, alongside other Executive Members of the group. Expressing his dissatisfaction over the killings of his kinsmen, he narrated what happened between the police man and his kinsmen which led to the civil disorder within the community and how he appealed to his people not to take law into their hands over the matter. The Mayor after listening with rapt attention to the Seriki general, emphasized on the need to bring the culprit to book. He noted that justice would be served to relatives of the deceased and they would be compensated accordingly. He assured that the medical Bills of these deceased would be paid by the government. He further stated that the peace and security meeting would meet to schedule a meeting between the Association of Okada Rider of the community and the Police to have an holistic view of the unfortunate incident that claimed three lives so as to guide against future reoccurence. Present at the brief meeting with helmsman were members of the Arewa group namely, Abdullahi Sadu, Seriki of Onosa, Abdurasaq Sahabi, Epe Seriki, Rabiu Umaru, family member of one of the deceased, Musa Sule, Chairman Arewa Community in Ibeju-Lekki, Hassan Muhammed, Seriki Awoyaya, Mustapha Shabi Ibrahim, Secretary General in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government.
