Pan-Atlantic University Gifts Tablets to Ibeju-Lekki Students

In a landmark stride towards bridging the digital divide and advancing quality education, the Ibeju Lekki Local Government under the visionary leadership of Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa on Friday 10th October, 2025 hosted Pan Atlantic University (PAU) for the official distribution of computer tablets to Senior Secondary School 3 (SS3) students across public secondary schools in the council area.

The event, which held at the Council Secretariat, Igando Oloja, was made possible through the Mastercard Foundation’s education support initiative and represents a major milestone in preparing young minds for the demands of a technology-driven future.

Representing the Vice Chancellor of Pan Atlantic University, Professor Enase Okonedo, was Dr. Frank Wiggle, Head of Community Relations, who led the PAU delegation in presenting the devices to students from schools including Ibeju Senior High School, Iwerekun Community High School, Orimedu Community High School, Magbon Alade Grammar School, Community Senior High School Debojo, and Community Senior High School Akodo.

In his remarks, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, Executive Chairman of Ibeju Lekki Local Government, described the gesture as “a transformative partnership that mirrors our shared vision for the future of education.”

“Education in the digital age goes beyond memorizing facts; it is about creativity, critical thinking, and innovation. By introducing these tools, we are not only empowering our students but positioning Ibeju Lekki as a model for modern learning,” he said.

He further commended Pan Atlantic University for its commitment to youth empowerment and community development, urging the students to use the tablets responsibly and meaningfully.

“Use these tablets wisely. You are the future of Ibeju Lekki, and your discipline and curiosity will determine how far you go,” the Chairman added.

Other dignitaries and stakeholders present, including traditional rulers, education administrators, and members of the Legislative Council, praised Hon. Olowa for his consistent dedication to educational advancement, describing his leadership as practical, people-focused, and visionary.

The initiative underscores PAU’s commitment to nurturing innovation and opportunity in underserved communities, while reinforcing Ibeju Lekki’s renewed drive to produce a generation of confident, digitally literate leaders ready to shape tomorrow.

Among those in attendance were the Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Mojeed Oluwafemi Olayinka, Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Hon. Maruf Issa Olayinka, His Royal Majesty, Oba Waliu Olasunkanmi Oguntolu, the Onibeju of Ibeju Land, representative of HRM Oba Yisa Toheeb Abidemi Oyedele, APC Lagos East Senatorial District Youth Leader, Hon. Gbenga Balogun, and CAN Chairman, Rev. Matthew Ameh, among others.
