For a clutter-free and sanitary setting, the environmental team of the Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa led administration led by the Chief Technical Adviser on Environment, Mr. Lateef Ajumobi today embarked on enforcement against illegal trading along the walkways, an operation which was carried out in Bogije, Lakowe and Ogunfayo.
The operation was initiated in response to the growing level of dis-orderliness and environmental encroachment in these areas. A large number of traders had illegally occupied pedestrian walkways and sections of the road, using these public spaces for commercial activities, thereby obstructing both vehicular and pedestrian movement.
The enforcement team worked to restore order by redirecting unauthorized traders and unlicensed vendors, back to their designated shops and approved trading areas. This action helped to significantly reduce the level of congestion and non-compliance observed along the corridor.
The operation was successful as it helped in restoring normalcy and ensuring a cleaner, safer environment along the Bogije, Lakowe, and Ogunfayo routes.
