NDIC–LASG PARTNERSHIP UNVEILS 1KM VIO-SECRETARIAT ROAD PROJECT IN IGANDO-OLOJA

The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), in partnership with the Lagos State Government, has announced the construction of a 1-kilometer stretch of the VIO–Secretariat Road, Igando-Oloja. The announcement was made today at a stakeholder meeting attended by key officials and community representatives.

The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, was represented at the meeting by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Issa Maruf Olayinka. In his remarks, Hon. Olowa expressed gratitude to the NDIC for extending its corporate social responsibility to Ibeju-Lekki, describing the project as a timely intervention that aligns with the Lagos State Government’s broader agenda of enhancing urban infrastructure and promoting seamless connectivity across the State.

Speaking on behalf of the NDIC, Engr. Tayo Adewole reaffirmed the Corporation’s commitment to supporting community development. “This road project reflects our dedication to contributing to the socio-economic growth of Lagos State. By partnering with the State Government, we aim to improve the quality of life for residents and businesses in Ibeju-Lekki,” he said.

Also addressing the gathering, Engr. Soyombo, Director of the Lagos State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, commended the NDIC for the initiative, noting that it underscores the importance of public-private partnerships in bridging infrastructural gaps across the State.

The 1km road project, to be executed by Batmas Construction Company, will feature modern drainage systems and pedestrian pathways, significantly easing traffic congestion and improving accessibility in the Igando-Oloja axis.

Present at the meeting were the Council Manager, Mr. Oladipupo Otinwa, and the Council Engineer, Mr. Tijani Adebayo, alongside other stakeholders.
