The above assertion were the words of the Representative from Lagos State, Mr Saheed Seriki, Commissioner for Environment, during the annual Tree Planting event at the Council Secretariat.
The Commissioner in his key note address stated the numerous importance of tree planting and the need to nurture and preserve them for future purpose and coming generation.
In his remarks, he reels out the purpose and importance of trees as avenue for relaxation, fruits provision, guards against erosion, climate change, dissolves carbon- monoxide toxic and pollutions in the air and others.
Mr Bamidele Onabanjo, the Council Treasurer in his remark noted the depletion of the ozone layer as stated by scientist as one of the vital importance of planting trees.
Sanitarian Jacob during his special Talk on Tree Planting, stressed the vital roles tree plays and its benefits to human existence at large.
