The Ibeju-Lekki Local Government 3-Day Year 2024 Budget Retreat which commenced on Wednesday,20th December, 2023 finally came to an end on Friday, 22nd December,2023.
The proposed appropriation bill,tagged “Budget of Developmental Growth, Wealth Creation and Fiscal Sustainability” captures the yearnings of the people as well as fulfils the developmental agenda of Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa led Administration’s Infrastructural,
Empowerment and Social provisions for Communities within the Council Area.
The Retreat’s first day paper presentation by the Council’s
vibrant Mayor,Hon. Olowa titled ‘Driving Result Through Better Strategy Execution’ is an indication that more is expected in the area of productivity from all the participants that consisted of the Political Class and Technocrats in the coming year leaving participants with reminders to BELIEVE,to develop a positive MINDSET as well as discharge assigned duties with URGENCY to achieve organisational goals through lay down strategies.
For better understanding of the rudiments of Budget Preparation and implementation,a Director of Budget,Planning and Statistics in the Civil Service and a reknown Resource person,Mr.Adeniyi Adeleke on the second day of the programme took participants through a lecture on synergy,service delivery and accountability in line with the agenda of the Olowa led Administration while various Departmental and Unit Heads defended the proposed budget allocations of their various Departments/Units for the year under review.
It was indeed three days of interactive and resourceful sessions with promise of a robust Budgetary plan that changes the developmental stance of communities in the Council Area in 2024.
