IBEJU-LEKKI NATIONAL IMMUNISATION PLUS DAYS PROGRAMME ROUNDS UP. In a bid to eradicate Polio in Lagos State and nationwide, Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Health Department commenced the second round of National Immunisation Plus Days Public Health campaign in Saturday, 25th to Tuesday 28th, November, 2023. The Polio Immunization Programme entails the vaccination of all 0-5 year old children with the oral novel polio vaccine at targeted venues like Houses, Schools, Religious Centres, Markets and busy areas in Ibeju Lekki and its environs. The Team of Health Workers who earlier started the NIPDS campaign with a motorised rally and awareness on last Saturday also ended each day of the Immunization exercise with a meeting of LGA Health Supervisors and Ward Health focal Supervisors with all activities supervised by the Council’s Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Ososanya Kehinde with the support of the Supervisor for Health, Hon. Sindiku,Tajudeen Oniwonlu at the cold store unit in Iberekodo PHC to review the day’s work . The Health Team have further embarked on a 2-Day mop up exercise starting from today Wednesday, 29th and Thursday, 30th November, 2023 to ensure that all eligible children benefit from the public health Polio Vaccination Programme. It is,therefore, imperative that Ibeju-Lekki Local Government’s Administration under the leadership of its performing Executive Chairman,Hon.(Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa is committed to ensuring a Polio Virus free environment for children of the Council area in cognisance with earlier support of Lagos State coordinated health programmes and various Council’s health related interventions to improve healthy living. Parents are however, enjoined to submit their children for Immunization in the last 2 days mop-up of the exercise.
