In continuation of cushioning the effect of Fuel Subsidy Removal on residents of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government and execution of programmes consisted in the Local Government’s Subsidy Relief Initiative, the Council Mayor, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa on Thursday, 24th August 2023 flagged off his Administrations’ relief packages on Health tagged Medical Relief Palliatives in all the functional Primary Health Care Centres within the Local Government.

The laudable Health programme which officially took off at the newly Renovated and newly Equipped Aiyeteju Primary Health Care Centre and simultaneously at five other PHCs namely
Awoyaya PHC,
Bogije PHC,
Lakowe PHC,
Ibeju-Agbe PHC and Iberekodo PHC in the council area respectively.

In his address, Hon. Olowa emphasised on the need for Government at all levels to provide affordable Healthcare, especially now when the country is battling the effect of fuel Subsidy Removal.

The Council Chairman, however, stated that the mini health mission will provide free Hypertension, Diabetes, Malaria Screenings with free Treatments and Drugs for the above mentioned ailments for residents and other services which also includes free Delivery for pregnant women.
“The Aiyeteju Primary Health Care Centre renovated and equipped is upgraded so it can provide 24hr good service delivery to the people of the area” Olowa said further.

The Council Mayor also reiterated the commitment of his Administration to give succour to all residents and Staff of the Local Government to reduce the negative impact of fuel Subsidy Removal on their daily lives.
Other plans and measures to be provided entails Transportation, Education, Agriculture, MSME (Loans) and many more, he mentioned.

Some of the stakeholders and beneficiaries of the health package applauded the Olowa led Administration for coming to their aid during this trying period,requesting for more assistance in other areas while going back to memory lane to appreciate the Chairman and his Administration for the Food Items Palliative enjoyed by residents recently.
