LSLGSC COMMISSIONERS ON A WORKING VISIT TO IBEJU-LEKKI LOCAL GOVERNMENT

Ibeju-Lekki Local Government on Tuesday 9th May, 2023 received, amidst pump and pageantry Local Government Commission Members, Permanent Secretaries and Directors of the Local Government Service Commission, Lagos State.

The August entourage was ably led by her vibrant Chairman, Hon. Kamal Ayinde Bayewu on a working visit to the Council Area as it is done yearly to oversee performances and welfare of Local Government Staff in the 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas.

In his opening remark, the Commission Chairman applauded the comportment of the Management and Staff of the Council as well as the synergy exhibited to get the Hon. Olowa led Administration successful thus far.

The new Permanent Secretaries, Mrs Bibilola Olasekun of Establishment and Pensions and Mr. Obadina Akinbode of the Local Government Service Commission were formally introduced.

The former, admonished Staff to do what it takes in the area of development to strengthen their career while also assuring Staff of Career Training provisions by the Commissions. Mr. Obadina on the other hand emphasized on the need for Staff to follow due process and not to be intimidated by anyone. He also chastised on proper handling and channeling of mails through and to appropriate quarters.

The Executive Chairman of the Council Area Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa who took the visitors on a tour of the ongoing Ultra Modern Council Secretariat Complex was applauded by the commission Chairman for the thoughtfulness of his Administration to bring back the council to her formal glory and prayed for the successful completion of the project.

Hon. Olowa in his remark applauded the Commissioners for creating the time to visit and gave his assurances on the provision of a good working environment and increase in welfare, especially provision of Staff Quarters in the nearest future for the workforce.

Staff questions were answered with assurances of a better service condition from the Commission.

In her vote of thanks, the Council Manager thanked the Commissions’ entourage for the visit. She also appreciated Management and Staff for their support so far.

The icing on the cake of the programme was the whole Council celebrating the belated birthday of Hon. Kamal Ayinde Bayewu which came up on 8th of May, 2023.
