In a bid to prevent the infestation of worms and transmission of soil Helminths in children under the ages of 5 and 14years, Ibeju-Lekki Local Government under the leadership of Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa recently joined other Local Governments and Local Council Development Area statewide campaign and the administration of deworming medicines to children under the ages of 5 to 14 years.
The directive from the Lagos State Health Care Board mandated the use of Albendazole to stipulated children within the State to prevent the transmission of worms among school age children.
The Council’s Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Kehinde Shosanya and his team commenced the Deworming Exercise in Public Schools within the Council Area from 22nd Nov. to 28th Nov. 2022 with most of the pupils as beneficiaries.
Kudos to Mayor Olowa for keying into and supporting this laudable programme.
