IBEJU-LEKKI LG. EMBARKS ON ROTAVIRUS VACCINATION TO PREVENT DIARRHOEAL IN CHILDREN.

After the visit of the officials of the Lagos State Ministry of Health’s Technical Facilitators to Ibeju-Lekki Local Government recently on an Advocacy visit on the introduction of Rotavirus Vaccination Campaign. The Vaccination Exercise has commenced in earnest. The head of the Team Mr. Adeoye during the earlier visit, had explained their mission and stated the importance of the  administration of Rotavirus Vaccination on children from 6 weeks old to 23months old. It is to prevent diarrhoea diseases in children. The Council Mayor, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa in response gave his words that the Local Government will adequately make provisions to ensure all children within the age range benefit from the vaccination to prevent the diseases in children of the Council Area. The Local Government has, however, embarked on the exercise since the 25th Nov. to end on 1st of December, 2022. Vaccination will be done in all PHCs in Ibeju-Lekki and in other strategic areas and various communities within the Local Government. Hon. Olowa enjoined all mothers to embrace this opportunity to submit their children for the vaccination for healthy growth. Massive motorised campaign is, however, ongoing to create more awareness on the Rotavirus Vaccination Exercise.

MAYOR OLOWA SOLICITS  IBEJU-LEKKI INDIGENES’ SUPPORTS TO THE TINUBU/ SHETTIMA CAMPAIGN THROUGH THE CROWD FUNDING APP.

Today Tuesday 29th November, 2022; the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government and the Deputy Director, Media of the Independent Campaign Group (ICG), Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa played a major role amidst other key players of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in the unveiling of the Tinubu Shettima Crowd funding Application. IBEJU-LEKKI LOCAL GOVERNMENT DEWORMS SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN

In a bid to prevent the infestation of worms and transmission of soil Helminths in children under the ages of 5 and 14years, Ibeju-Lekki Local Government under the leadership of Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa recently joined other Local Governments and Local Council Development Area statewide campaign and the administration of deworming medicines to children under the ages of 5 to 14 years. The directive from the Lagos State Health Care Board mandated the use of Albendazole to stipulated children  within the State to prevent the transmission of worms among school age children. The Council’s Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Kehinde Shosanya and his team commenced the Deworming Exercise in Public Schools within the Council Area from 22nd Nov. to 28th Nov. 2022 with most of the pupils as beneficiaries. Kudos to Mayor Olowa for keying into and supporting this laudable programme.

IBEJU LEKKI COUNCIL CHAIRMAN VISITS IWEREKUN COMMUNITY, ASSURES INFRASTRUCTURAL FACELIFT

The Council Chairman, Hon Abdullahi Sesan Olowa on 23rd November, 2022 visited Iwerekun Community where he inspected the new-look Iwerekun primary school whose renovation was recently facilitated by Distinguished Senator Adetokunbo Abiru. During his interaction with community leaders at the school premises, the Chairman noted that perimeter fence and toilet are two complementary facilities that would be urgently provided for the school to ensure security and hygiene of the pupils and the school environment. The chairman also touched on the state of the community access road and further clarified that funding constraint was responsible for the delay in rehabilitating the road as the firm earlier contacted to handle the job proposed a bill that was way beyond the local governments’ capacity. He however promised immediate stabilization of the road to ease vehicular movement. In the same vein, the Supervisor for Education, Hon Tope Ogungbo on behalf of the Chairman also inspected Solu Alade & Alatishe Primary Schools being constructed by Hon, Prince Bayo Balagun (MHR) to appreciate the marvelous job Bibire is doing and thanked the MHR for the good job he is doing.
