PRESENTATION OF STAFF OF OFFICE TO THE SEVEN (7) NEWLY INSTALLED TRADITIONAL RULERS

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE SEVEN KINGS THAT WERE INSTALLED AND PRESENTED THE STAFF OF OFFICE BY HIS EXCELLENCY, THE GOVERNOR OF LAGOS STATE, MR BABAJIDE OLUSOLA SANWOOLU ABLY REPRESENTED BY SPECIAL ADVISER ON LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND COMMUNITY AFFAIRS, HON. BOLAJI ROBERTS YESTERDAY FRIDAY 4TH NOVEMBER, 2002 AT IBEJU-LEKKI LOCAL GOVERNMENT SECRETARIAT, IGANDO OLOJA, LAGOS STATE. THE OBAS (KINGS) ARE: 1. HRM Oba Wasiu Abdulrazaq Olasunkanmi Waliu Oguntolu – The Paramount Ruler of Ibeju-Lekki Kingdom and The Onibeju of Ibeju Land. 2. HRM Oba Olayemi Lukman Arowolo – The Gbadewolu of Araromi Kingdom. 3. HRM Oba Talabi Odugbesan – The Oni Debojo of Debojo Kingdom . 4. HRM Oba Mufutau Adewunmi – Ogunfayo of Iwerekun 5. HRM Oba Akeem Animashaun Ojomu – The Ojomu of Lakowe 6. HRM Oba Lamoriu Kayode Nosiru Isiaka – The OniMopo of Mopo Ijebu 7. HRM Oba Saka Bakare – The Olu Kayetoro of Kayetoro Land. Construction of Blocks of Classrooms at Roman Catholic Mission Primary School, Okegun

On Tuesday 1st November, 2022, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon Abdullahi Sesan Olowa and the entire Cabinet members visited Roman Catholic Mission Primary School, Okegun to introducing the contractor who will be handling the project of the building of a block of classrooms facilitated by the “doing good” Senator, Distinguished Senator Mikhail Tokunbo Abiru. Also present are Traditional Rulers of adjoining communities, Parents of pupils as well as other dignitaries.

IBEJU-LEKKI LG. HOSTS COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND EDUCATION CAMPAIGN FOR LAGOS STATE ACCELERATED POWER DISTRIBUTION PROGRAMME

In a bid to seek an end to the perpetual darkness within Ibeju-Lekki Local Government due to lack of electricity,the Lagos State Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in partnership with African Development Banke and National Rural Electric Coorperative Association (NRECA) on Wednesday 2nd November, 2022 engaged all Ibeju-Lekki Stakeholders to find a lasting solution to the menace and solicit support from the people of the Council Area to improve on power infrastructure. In his opening address, the Executive Chairman of the Local Government, Hon.(Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa expressed his gratitude towards the move made by the State Government to provide a lasting solution to the general problem of epileptic power supply. The Council Chair reiterated the need to hasting the restoration in order to return Ibeju-Lekki to its formal glory Economically,Socially and Developmentally. Mayor Olowa emphasised on his commitment and that of his Administration to give maximum support to achieve the herculean task. The onus,therefore, lies on Traditional Rulers of various communities within the Local Government to engage their people for the success of the project while also applauding the two organisations for starting this life changing project from Ibeju-Lekki. The Representative of the Special Adviser on Energy and Mineral Resources, Engr. Ayodele Antonio stated that the Ministry of Energy which is the Coordinating Department on this project is ready to bring to light organisations willing to work toward the efforts of the Lagos State Government in restoring constant power supply in Various Communities within the State. While addressing Ibeju-Lekki Stakeholders, the representative of the National Coorperative Association sensitised the people on how the success of the project is hinged on community participation and the need to form a Coorperative Association to drive and sustain the laudable Project. The speaker from (NRECA) also said the test-run of the electrification Project will start in ten communities namely Oshoroko, Magbon-Alade among others while prepaid meters will also be distributed. It was unanimously agreed that Ibeju-Lekki Stakeholders are ready to give their all in making the exercise successful. Also at the occasion were the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Adewale Adebanjo, other Political Office Holders, the Onisolu Of Solu-Alade, Oba Muhideen Adewale Balogun and other Traditional Rulers, Religious Leaders and other Stakeholders.
