It will be a 2 Day eventful ceremony on Monday 12th – Tuesday 13th September, 2022 when the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Executive Chairman, Hon.(Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa led Administration will give an account of his achievements in the last one year in office.

Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa who was sworn-in on the 27th of July, 2021
embarked and executed more than seventy programmes and projects of which some were Commissioned in commendation of his Administration’s
one year in office.

The Council Mayor who has performed tremendously well in the last one year following his four Cardinal Agenda of Infrastructural Development,
Boosting Local Economy, Social Development and Security as well as Environmental Sustainability has been said to be one of the best performing Chairmen in the State.His wonderful performance has also earned him so many Awards of Excellence and Recognition.

Hon. Olowa while recounting his achievements on Infrastructural Development, mentioned how his Administration has succeeded in touching more than 17 Roads, Culverts and Building Structures which include 200 meter Flexible Pavement at Badore, Grading Roads, Construction of Box Culverts, Continuation of the building of Ibeju-Lekki Legislative House and monthly renovation of dilapidated Schools’ Infrastructures to mention but few.

The Council Mayor also briefed the gathering on how the general economy of the Local Government has improved tremendously through proactive measures his Administration has taken to increase Revenue. Some of the steps taken were the Enumeration of Businesses and Business Owners, Purchase of three Sienna Buses for Revenue Generation, Engagement of 30 Revenue Managers, Construction of New Revenue House and many more.
“I am happy to inform this gathering that through aggressive advocacy, our efforts is paying off because our Internally Generated Revenue has improved from Meager to a reasonable size thereby inching our way to financial autonomy and independence.
We shall not relent in our fight to dig into the economic potential of the Council Area for economic stability,” the Council Mayor said.

While recounting his achievements on his third Cardinal Agenda which is Social Development and Security, Education, Health, Employment, Rural Electrification, Welfare under this milieu have received maximum attention by the Olowa led Administration.
On Education, works were done on Construction, Renovation and Reconstruction of Block of Classrooms, Administrative Block, Toilets, Library and of course the resolve for his Administration to do the Perimeter Fencing of all Public Primary Schools within the council area in the next four years to ensure the safety of pupils and deter encroachment on properties.
Schools that have benefitted from our benevolence so far are RCM Community Primary School, Orimedu; Labora Community Primary School; Iberikodo Community Primary School amongst others.

Hon. Olowa also mentioned other interventions on Education which includes Extra-Coaching Classes for Secondary Schools Science Students, Preparatory Classes for candidates who received free GCE and NCE Forms from the Local Government, Sponsorship of the First Intra Schools Debate and Quiz Competitions,Provision of Writing Materials and of course the remuneration package for students which included the Award of #40,000 Bursary to 200 Tertiary students and Scholarship for 8 outstanding pupils in the just concluded National Common Entrance Examinations.

While Cheques were presented to the lucky beneficiaries, Hon. Olowa promised the exercise would be a continuous one while he reiterated on the commitment of his Administration to the development of Education.

The neglect of our 14 Primary Health Centres when we came onboard a year ago was a major concern to this Administration which was why we hit the ground running with our resolve to totally revamp our Health Centres to provide basic health care delivery to the people through the renovation of structures, provision of top-notch
health services, power generation through monthly Fueling, hiring of Medical Personnel’s and more.
Ibeju-Agbe Primary Health Centre, Staff Quarters and Perimeter Fence were part of the Newly Renovated and commissioned health projects to commemorate the one year in office of the Olowa led Administration while Ayeteju and Solu-Alade PHC’s are undergoing repairs, the Chairman said not leaving out the provision of Drugs, Health Services, and provision of Ambulance for general services.

The Council Chairman also emphasized his efforts on Security which are the reformation of the existing local security outfit formally known as ‘Folumo’ to Ibeju-Lekki Security Corps and now equipped with a Hilux Patrol Van for mobility to complement the efforts of Federal Security Agencies.
“In my capacity as the Chief Security Officer of this Local Government, this Administration will continue to be on our guard to prevent security breeches from different quarters and put measures in place to secure the lives and properties of residents”, Hon. Olowa also reiterated.

While talking on the success of his agenda on Environmental Sustainability,
Mayor Olowa expressed his gratitude to the people of the community for keying and cooperating with his Environmental reforms of Cleaner Ibeju-Lekki Initiative, Recruitment of 300 Street Sweepers, 30 Gardeners, 16 Environmental Taskforce and provision of Modern Gadgets and Fumigation Machines for effectiveness of personnel.

Our resolve to also provide utility vehicles for the Environmental Services Department is to aid movements within the council area for effective service delivery. We shall not rest on our oars until Ibeju-Lekki becomes the cleanest Local Government within the State, the Chairman said.

Hon. Olowa in his closing remark solicited more support for his Administration from all stakeholders and seek for their contributions to move the Local Government forward. He also applauded the support of the Council’s Legislative Members especially the Leader of the House, Hon. Mojeed Olayinka who also seized an opportunity to mention some of the achievements of the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government 6th Legislative Council and appreciated the Council Boss for the procurement of six SUV Official Vehicles for the smooth running of Legislation.

The Executive Council were praised for making laudable decisions in the Interest of the people while Management Members and Staff were applauded for people oriented policy execution and for the success achieved so far. He implored all hands must be on deck to achieve more in the future.

A brand new Hilux Patrol Van was later commissioned and handed over to Alh. Akinsanya, a retired Police Officer, Safety Ambassador and the coordinator of the Ibeju-Lekki Security Corps.

Also present at the occasion were Royal Fathers, Party Leaders/Faithfuls and other stakeholders who has aided the journey of the Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa led Administration thus far.
