COUNCIL CHAIRMAN ON INSPECTION TOUR, VISITS BOGIJE, AWOYAYA, ABIJO, OFIRAN AND HIGHER GROUND COMMUNITIES

The Council Chairman of Ibeju Lekki Local Government, Hon Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, together with the Vice Chairman, Hon. Yusuf Isiaka Olatunji, the Secretary to the Local Government, Mr. Wale Adebanjo and Supervisory Councillors on Tuesday 26th April, 2022 visited communities on an inspection tour as well as having a first hand onsite assessment of their needs.

Visiting Bogije community as the first port of call, the Council Chairman promised to have a stakeholders meeting with the concerned members of the community as well as proffering solutions to the flood issues which has been a nightmare to the members of the axis.

Meanwhile at Awoyaya, Hon. Olowa called on the Cleaner Ibeju Lekki Initiative to work with the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) to expedite action on the refuse dump at the entrance of the Community as the Council Boss used the opportunity to sensitize traders on the ills of trading by the road side.

At Majek Abijo, the Council Chairman expressed concern over the state of the road as the potholes causes gridlock for oncoming vehicles thereby slowing down turn around time for commuters. The Council Mayor however is currently working with the relevant agency, Lagos State Public Works Corporation (LSPWC) to fix the failed portion of the road, while expressing optimism that a solution will be proffered in the nearest possible future.

The Council Chairman with the entire team took a tour down to Ayeteju, AfriBank, Ofiran and Higher Ground Communities where he inspected the roads linking various communities while assuring the members of the community of a workable model type of partnership between the Government and the governed on a mutual trust assurance which will help in the quick development of their respective domains.

While on inspection, Hon. Olowa frowned at the nonchalant attitude of individuals who drop building materials on the road thereby frustrating the free movement of people. He warned that individuals with such tendencies should shun such acts as it is the responsibility of all to ensure a good and secure neighbourhood .

Among the entourage are the Council Engineer, Engr. Rotimi Okunowo, the Chief Technical Adviser, Mr. Abiodun Rabiu amongst others.
