IBEJU-LEKKI LOCAL GOVERNMENT HOSTS ANNUAL RAMADAN LECTURE IN HONOUR OF ASIWAJU BOLA AHMED TINUBU/SANWO-OLU: CHARGES PARTICIPANTS TO INSTILL MORALS IN YOUTHS

The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa yesterday 21st of April, 2022 hosted the Annual Ramadan Public Lecture organized by the Unified Local Government Muslim (Staff) Association of Lagos State (Ibeju-Lekki Branch) in honour of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with the theme “The Role of Youths in Nation Building”.

The Public Lecture which had in attendance Islamic Clerics of note, also had representatives from all walks of life as the Lecture centered on morals and discipline among our youths owing to the prevalence of moral decadence in the society.

Hon. Olowa in his remarks, thanked the Muslim Ummah for a job well done towards the organization of the public lecture as there couldn’t have been a better time as this. The Council Chairman used the occasion to plead with parents to ensure Children are given the right morals from childhood as the Mayor cited an example of himself while growing up and the roles of his parents instilling good morals.

The Council Chairman, stressed further that, due to the lack of the fear of God in the society and the urgent quest for wealth many have fallen into the trap of moral decadence.

Responding to the request of the Clerics on the need to handle moral and Quranic teachings of children, the Council Boss affirmed it as a good decision while he seized the opportunity to spell out some of the programmes that his Administration has embarked upon and ongoing ones to ensure a return to the past in academic excellence.

Hon. Olowa engaged the Muslim Leaders and all present to pray for the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu to succeed in their in aspirations to run the race to Aso Rock as Nigerian President and the Lagos State Governorship seat come 2023 respectively.

In attendance were, The 6th Legislative Council  Arm led by the Leader of the House, Hon. Mojeed Olayinka, Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Hon. Adewale Balogun and other Executive Council Members, Management, Staff, Traditional Heads and their representatives, League of Imam, Political Stalwarts and many others.
