IBEJU LEKKI OLOWA SETS TO BOOST TOURISM… VISITS ELEKO BEACH.
One of the major investment interest of the Executive Chairman, Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa led Administration is Tourism: this idea is conceived because of the peculiar nature and coastal advantage of the Council area.
To make the dream a reality, the Council Mayor and his team today Wednesday 10th November, 2021 visit the reknown Eleko Beach which was formally the home of hospitality which attracts tourists from around the globe.
The Council Mayor and his entourage was received by the traditional head of the area, Chief Labia Fatau Gbadebo.
Hon. Olowa while speaking to the community members enlightened them on the benefits of the coastal area which includes the total transformation of the waterfront socially,
economically and also give room for employability amongst other opportunities.
“With your support, we can bring Eleko Beach back to her former glory as the most sorted relaxation haven and many more” the Council Mayor said.
He however, implored the youths of the area to appreciate the rear gift of a robust heritage and to seize the opportunity to harness and generate wealth out of what nature has bestowed on them.
The Council Chairman also reiterated on involving relevant State Ministries and Agencies for assistance in ensuring the rehabilitation of the coastline as well as wade into other grey areas.
Speaking on behalf of other leaders of the Community, the Traditional Head of Eleko, Chief Labia Fatau Gbadebo pledged their support for the Hon. Olowa led Administration whenever needed. He also attested to the benefit of this developmental project on the coastal area.
On ensuring the safety of lives and properties due to the peculiarity of the area, the District Police Officer (DPO) of Akodo Police Station, CSP Thomas Orire who was also at the meeting stated his readiness cum cooperation and that of his team in maintaining law and order in the community and it’s environs.
In the same vein, the Executive Chairman was presented an award of recognition by the Ibeju-Lekki Hospitality and Tourism Association (ILHATA) ably led by Mr. Adekunle Labia (Akowe).
Also in attendance were the Council Manager of the Local Government, Engr. (Mrs) Akitoye, other officials of the LG, Men/Women Leaders and Youths of the Eleko Community amongst others.
