COUNCIL MAYOR PAYS VISIT TO AGRARIAN COMMUNITIES OF THE COUNCIL AREA.

.. Promises Revamping of Agriculture and infrastructures….

The Council Chairman Engr. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa today 25th August,  2021 visited farmers communities within Ibeju-Lekki Local Government consisting of Dongo, Ajegbenwa, Tagbati, Arapagi, Idi Ori, Anwoye and Abegede respectively.

In his visit to the farmers at Idi Ori, the Council Mayor praised the people for their tenacity and sagacity in holding forth despite the challenges of the road network difficulty in accessing other towns and civilisation.

The Council Mayor, assured that the Local Government Administration will look into ways of ensuring palliatives as a way of infrastructural intervention.

The Council Mayor also hinted the farmers on ways the Local Government intends supporting them in order to boost local production in the form of grants and loans as he made an example of rice farming as commercially viable.

 

 

Hon. Olowa made it known that basic infrastructure will be incorporated into the various communities and encouraged the farmers to bring their children who are literate onboard and be part of the process.

The Council Chairman took time to visit the rice farm at Anwoye, inspected the fish feed mill, the Primary School at Abegede and Arapagi, and also the Health Care center under construction at Arapagi Lotu. Oko Oba Market was also visited by the Council Mayor who assured that it will be revamped and make bigger in no distant time.

Special interest was the Paddy rice storage facility visited at Ajegbenwa which elicited gladness in the heart of the Council Mayor as he said efforts will be doubled to fast track the process of establishing a market that will avail Community members a channel to market their farm products.

The Secretary of the Farmer’s Association, Mr Taiwo Quadri who spoke on behalf of the Communities appreciated the Executive Chairman for deeming it fit to visit and have such a tall dream on making the Local Government an Agricultural viable environment worthy of emulation. He prayed that God will aid the Council in fulfilling all the promises.
