Ibeju-Lekki Local Government under the Leadership of The Executive Chairman, (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa in partnership with Lagos State Government Commissioned Desalu Primary Health Centre located within Desalu and Onosa community.
Addressing the gathering at the event, the representative of the Permanent Secretary, Health District 3, Dr Monsurat Adeleke who was ably represented by Dr. Oguntuase Adenike.
Presenting the keynote Address, Dr. Oguntuase stated that Primary Health Care is the foundation of any strong health system and such facilities are centres where mothers receive antenatal care, children are immunised against deadly diseases, families are counselled on family planning and nutrition, and common illness of everyday life are treated before they become emergencies.
She noted that, as an eigh-hour facility, the Desalu Primary HealthCare Centre will serve residents throughout the working day, with a clear referral link to the Lagos State Governments twenty four hour health facilities for cases that requires round the clock care.
She emphasized that expectant mothers can now be seen close to home and complications can be identified early and referred in good time.
This she noted, would translate to fewer lost of lives to distance and a community able to face the future with greater confidence.
She assured the Executive Chairman of partnership and support from Lagos State Health District 3.
She implored health workers designated to work at the Desalu Health Centre to maintain high level of hygiene, keep accurate records, and receive every patient with courtesy, treat every mother with dignity, so as to earn the trust of the community.
Lastly, she commended the Executive Chairman, Hon. (Engr) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, for his Vision and devotion toward the health and well being of the people of Ibeju-Lekki, as demonstrated by the commissioning of the Desalu Primary Health Centre.
The Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Chairman, Hon.(Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, speaking at the event, acknowledged all dignitaries present, he noted that the Olowa led administration priorities health care and preservation of human life above every other things.
The helmsman emphasized on the aim of the event to officially hand over the Adesalu Primary Health Centre which has been fully equipped with Medical Facility to ensure that Maternal equity, infant Safety, and rapid emergency interventions, are anchored precisely where our families reside.
He hinted that the administration has Spent past months aggressively transforming public resources into the world class medical asset.
He stated that the project has move beyond paper project and translate into reality, visible for all residents to access for medical intervention and needs,
